چکیده

The Response Time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT) can reveal that a person recognizes relevant item ( probe , e.g., murder weapon) among other irrelevant items controls ), based on slower responses to the compared controls. present paper assesses influence of test length (due practice, habituation, or fatigue) two key variables in RT-CIT: (a) probe-control differences and (b) classification accuracy, through meta-analysis (using 12 previous experiments), as well with new experiments. It is consistently demonstrated increased decreases but increases accuracies. main implication for real-life application using altogether at least around 600 trials optimal RT-CIT.

Keeping it real: self-control depletion increases accuracy, but decreases confidence for performance

We propose that egotism about one’s abilities may be related to good self-regulation and a lack of self-control may reduce estimations of aptitudes. Self-control depletion should lead to more accurate and therefore less lofty predictions of future performances. In two experiments, self-control depletion was manipulated by having participants either resist tempting cookies or by inhibiting thoug...

Brain fingerprinting classification concealed information test detects US Navy military medical information with P300

A classification concealed information test (CIT) used the "brain fingerprinting" method of applying P300 event-related potential (ERP) in detecting information that is (1) acquired in real life and (2) unique to US Navy experts in military medicine. Military medicine experts and non-experts were asked to push buttons in response to three types of text stimuli. Targets contain known information...

Laboratory Methodologic Approach in Prolonged Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time Test

The pathological activated partial thromboplastin time test is a data that we can find in all clinical laboratories routinely. The hemato-coagulative clinical case here reported aims to point out how the laboratory can provide a correct diagnosis by methodological rational setting and, consequently, carry out an appropriate therapy, or reassure the patient that the pathological data will not ca...

An interfering Go/No-go task does not affect accuracy in a Concealed Information Test.

Following the idea that response inhibition processes play a central role in concealing information, the present study investigated the influence of a Go/No-go task as an interfering mental activity, performed parallel to the Concealed Information Test (CIT), on the detectability of concealed information. 40 undergraduate students participated in a mock-crime experiment and simultaneously perfo...
